Established in 2018, VBA Limited supply clients with a responsive, personalised and competitive design service. Based in Oamaru with a satellite office in Wanaka, VBA Limited cover the Waitaki Valley and the Queenstown Lakes District.
VBA Limited utilises digital technology providing accurate drawings and visualisations early in the project phase. Following this initial stage, the same technology enables the efficient production of architectural drawings, generating regulatory compliance and construction documentation.
We strive to provide clients with functional buildings that include the style and features specific to them. Designing in sympathy with the environment and climatic conditions of the site. Providing a refined building that engenders pride and stands the test of time for all our clients.

Our approach
All projects begin with a conversation. We meet on site, listen to your brief, ideas, and inspiration. We tell you about us, levels of service and answer any questions you may have about the design, consents, timeframe, quality, and budget. Following this we provide you with a no obligation fee proposal.
VBA Limited’s design philosophy is to build the most thermally efficient envelope pushing above and beyond the building code. Creating a thermally broken envelope using the best performing window suites recessed back into the wall framing, maximising the insulation in the ceilings and walls and insulating under and around the perimeter of the slab.
The orientation of the building is important for natural light and heat throughout the day maximising solar gain while deep eaves on the north and west elevations reduce overheating in the summer months.
Going forward VBA Limited will be working with clients to reduce C02 emissions within the design and material selections. Working towards designing and constructing zero-carbon buildings. In 2022 VBA Limited’s team participated in the Bite Size Passive House Course and in 2023 VBA Limited will be researching Living Building Challenge and Petal Certification for our projects.
